INTERRUPTING INFRASTRUCTURE: DUST AND THE DESERT

infrastructural love: caring for our architectural support systems (2022)

The chapter discusses ways that dust storms interrupt physical infrastructures and in doing so, expose modern infrastructure as fragile and defenseless against global ecology. By demonstrating how even the smallest particles can interrupt the very infrastructures that have sought to alter and control the environment, this research challenges the notion that nature can be controlled through technobureaucratic agendas.
